Week ending Nov 27, 2010

Feeling ok. Swimming and biking down b/c pool/gym was closed in early AM on Thurs and Friday. Had a scare with hip really hurting (old injury from 2009) early in week, but it seems to be aok now. Cannot wait to get back to a regular schedule although Thanksgiving was great! Walks between runs are done! Upcoming week will be a drop in actual running total time, just one 15 minute run every other day, but no more walking in between runs. Still no plans to run back-to-back days just yet.

Louisville!!

A big congrats to my nephew, Christopher Estrella, and his UMLowell xc teammates for winning the NCAA D2 XC East Region Championships at Franklin Park yesterday. It was Christopher's first 10k ever and he banged out a 32:09, good for 5th man on the team and 19th overall. His former Lowell High teammate, Jeff Veiga, led Lowell as he hammered out an impressive win in a blistering 30:08. Four of Lowell's top 5 were Merrimack Valley Conference high schoolers. With the win, the RiverHawks are headed to Louisville, KY for the NCAA D2 XC Championships on December 4th.
